Garden "State"

I planted some huge bulbs called "Elephant Ears"..I've never seen them before, but as you can see, they have really earned their name. I am not sure if I can leave the bulb in the ground over winter, or can I dig it up and save it like we do other bulbs over winter...anyone know?

This is a flower arrangement from my garden last year. The vase was one of my mother's wedding presents. These mums were so lush last year!

The Elephant Ear/SunFlowers& Tomatoes

I found this huge bulb at the WallMart "over the bridge" for about $2.49. This is the first time I've tried growing Elephant Ears...My neighbour lady allowed me to fill in her otherwise bare edges around her foundation at the side of her house. Everything else comes from the smorgasboard of surprises from my compost bin!

माय प्लांट्स & Flowers

Today I thought I would take some photos of my garden(s) and keep track on the progress.

This is my attempt at making a "Zen" Garden. I realize one should probably use some sand etc. but this is my little Zen spot. All I need now is a "thinking stool".

What a wonderful four days I've spent with my little Grandaughter, Kaley. It's not just about baking cookies, is it? These memories will be etched in her little head and treasured just like the times I can remember baking and making a mess with my mom.

Never, Never, Ever Give Up!

I believe a version of this quote belongs to Sir Winston Churchill. Towards the end of his life when he was attending one of those posh banquets that requires a noteworthy speaker, he was called upon to deliver his speech. With great difficulty, he made it to the podium. The only thing he said before retiring to his seat was something like this:...."Never, Never, Ever Give UP".....I think about him saying this when things seem to be going all wrong and one needs a swift kick in the right direction!
